Unijunction Transistor
What is it?
The unijunction transistor is a general purpose electronic switch.
What does it do?
Using resistors and a capacitor it can be configured to operate as a simple oscillator.
The frequency can be adjusted by varying the value of the resistors.
How does it work?
The unijunction transistor is a negative resistance device. The input impedance
when not conducting is high. When the input voltage exceeds a peak value, it starts
conducting and the input impedance is low.
Applications
Strobe light, binaural sound generator.
