Control Area Network (CAN)
CAN is a multi-cast network system that connects multiple microcontrollers. It
allows micro controller to share information.
Each microcontroller exchanges information using an identification number and a
semaphore.
When an microcontorller is ready to send or receive information, it set a semaphore
flag and the CAN controller enables transmission based on the priority of the
semaphores.
CAN is used to monitor and control multiple operations. Examples: automotive
systems, navigation systems, oil drilling, flight simulators.
